Breakout

During the session, participants will try their hand at an interactive escape room that not only fosters critical problem-solving skills but also introduces fundamental coding concepts through puzzles and challenges. Get ready to unlock a world of adventures, fun, and learning for young coders! Unplugged CS activities like the ones included in the breakout activities we have created provide an engaging, foundational, and adaptable learning experience for young students. The activities bring the abstract concepts of CS and computational thinking into the real-world. By giving students hands-on tasks, they are able to gain a deeper understanding of the concepts and more students are engaged as a technology competency is not needed. The opportunity for collaboration decreases the intimidation students may feel with an unfamiliar topic like CS, and the different puzzles allow students to work on their problem-solving critical thinking skills.
